There is a common thread to both these insects, which I found in dead leaves on an oak. The bare branches did not yield much, but those with old twisted leaves still attached were harbouring a few things. Top is a lacewing nymph with a tent of lichens and other debris; below it is a lacebug, Physatocheila dumetorum. Lacebugs are small but beautifully patterned with a lace-like network on their backs.
